Missus B

Hi there! I'm Aaliya otherwise known as Alaska/Missus Stitches/Mrs B or many other connotations of the same thing! I've been in busines since 2019 and I've been determined to Get Cosy! ever since.

My love of sewing began when I was a young teen but it didn't bloom until after my eldest child was born.

Now three kids later, sitting at my sewing machine is like working with my best friend every day - we get on but every now and then we can fall out (it's mainly his fault...oh yeah, my machine is called Flynn).

Patterns & prints, the feel of varying fabrics - it all delights me on a daily basis BUT my biggest bit of fun comes with deciding what to make with it all! I've been known to buy a print and be sure I know what it will be used for, only to be pleasantly suprised when it comes down to cutting!

I love to make beautiful and useful accessories for everyday activities: from unique, one-off aprons that fits you perfectly and does the job it's supposed to, to that cosy blanket perfect for snuggles and cosying up together.


However, I really hate waste, not just in my industry but in most areas. With my fabrics, I hoard my scraps, knowing that I will make 'something' with it all when the time is right! But I also like being economical in other areas too! My poor Mr B, who is my silent supporter, works with me around the home as we try to reuse and repurpose as much as possible - especially during our DIY in our home.


My favourite thing to make is however my Patchwork blankets - they come together without a plan but mostly themed by colour and while they do give my arms a work out in the assembling of it all - I am never disappointed with the results.
